Mirik Lake

Mirik Lake also known as Sumendu Lake is probably the main attraction for tourists and travelers. The 1.25kms long natural lake is the greatest reason for travelers to visit this place all throughout the year, most preferably during peak season. The western side of the Lake is surrounded by Dhupi Trees and the eastern side has a vast garden. An interesting fact about the Lake is that it remains full throughout the year due to rain and water from the springs nearby.

Sumendu Lake has an eighty-foot long arched bridge across its center connecting the western and eastern banks. Travelers and tourists usually take an early morning walk along Lake. Horse riding along the Lake is still a popular activity for tourists. Boating activity has been temporarily stopped. Recently the garden around the Lake is going through a major renovation.
